55-year-old Helen had visited her son, Matt\u2019s home, where he was living in there with his wife Jennifer, and their son, and her grandson, Jake.<\/p>\n

He was two weeks old when Helen visited, and as soon as she held Jake in her arms, she couldn\u2019t felt a connection with her grandson, as if Jake was carrying some other person\u2019s eyes, where Helen\u2019s family always had blue and brown eyes, while Jake had his green eyes.<\/p>\n

Jake also had a different kind of hair color, instead of their blond and dark brown shaded hair. \u201cHe has his grandfather\u2019s eyes, doesn\u2019t he? From my side of the family.\u201d Jennifer said, while Helen was examining her grandson.<\/p>\n

But Helen was suspicious, and Jennifer\u2019s efforts to reassure Helen were in vain. Few weeks later, as Helen\u2019s suspicions were grown, she decided to take a DNA test on her grandson to find the truth.<\/p>\n

At the 30th birthday party of Jennifer, Helen decided to take the DNA test. When she arrived at their house, her son Matt welcomed Helen, \u201cMom, I\u2019m glad you\u2019re here. Jake\u2019s been asking for his grandma,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n

\u201cI hope you enjoy the party. We\u2019ve planned a special dinner,\u201d Jennifer hugged too. As time passed, Helen wanted to talk with Matt and Jennifer.<\/p>\n

\u201cMatt, Jennifer, there\u2019s something that we need to address, something about Jake.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cMom, what\u2019s this about? What are you doing?\u201d Matt was concerned.<\/p>\n

\u201cWhat is it? You\u2019re worrying me,\u201d Jennifer said.<\/p>\n

Then Helen talked about her suspicions, and revealed the DNA test kit she brought in her purse. \u201cJennifer, I will not tolerate such a vile betrayal of my son!\u201d Helen said.<\/p>\n

\u201cHow dare you accuse me of something like that,\u201d Jennifer was offended, \u201cHow could you say something like that; there is no proof!\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cWell, Jennifer, today is your lucky day. I came prepared. A simple DNA test will clear all doubts,\u201d Helen responded then, as she pulled out the test kit.<\/p>\n

Few days later, the DNA test revealed the truth, as Helen was right with her suspicions. Jennifer also confessed her guilt over the phone that Jake was an affair child, before she had met with Matt.<\/p>\n

\u201cWhy?\u201d Helen asked, as she contained herself. Jennifer explained that she was afraid to tell to Matt, as she didn\u2019t wanted him to leave her.<\/p>\n

As Helen couldn\u2019t hold it inside, she talked with her son about the issue, and witnessed the confrontation of her son, with his wife.<\/p>\n

\u201cJennifer, how could you do this? How could you let me believe Jake was mine?\u201d Matt asked.<\/p>\n

\u201cI was scared, Matt. I thought I would lose you if you knew the truth.\u201d Jennifer said.<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/figure>\n

\u201cBut lying to me, to us, about something so fundamental\u2026 How could we possibly move past this?\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cI thought I was protecting us, but I see now I was only protecting myself from the truth. I\u2019m so sorry, Matt.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cBeing sorry won\u2019t change anything, Jennifer. This\u2026 This lie has broken everything.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cMom, how do I move past this? How do I make sense of everything?\u201d Matt asked to his mother.<\/p>\n

\u201cMatt, my heart breaks for you. This pain, this sense of betrayal \u2014 it\u2019s a steep mountain to climb. But remember, you\u2019re not climbing it alone. We\u2019re here, together, and we\u2019ll take it one step at a time,\u201d Helen tried to assure her son.<\/p>\n

\u201cI just\u2026 I loved her, Mom. I loved Jake as my own. How do I reconcile with the reality that it was all a facade?\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cLove, Matt, is a tapestry of many threads \u2014 some of joy, some of sorrow. Your bond with Jake remains untarnished by this deceit. And as for Jennifer, it\u2019s natural to mourn the loss of what you believed you had. It\u2019s alright to be angry, to feel adrift. This ordeal doesn\u2019t define your essence. You possess the resilience to forge ahead, to rediscover joy amidst the ruins.\u201d<\/p>\n
