Her mother, Heather Unbehaun, who had custody during her disappearance, was arrested on a fugitive charge after the discovery.<\/p>\n<p>A Good Samaritan recognized Kayla during a shopping trip in Asheville and alerted authorities. Kayla\u2019s biological father, Ryan Iskerka, expressed joy and gratitude for her safe return and requested privacy.<\/p>\n<p>Kayla went missing in 2017 while under her mother\u2019s care, sparking a search effort. Her case was highlighted on \u201cUnsolved Mysteries\u201d in 2022.
